Edwardian House meets 21st century lifestyle!
Mr H owned a seven bedroom property in North Oxford where he and his family had lived for twenty years. The quality furnishings had become tired and dated. The brief given to Lesley Ann was to update the property with the short term view of creating a more comfortable home but with the long term view (two years) to sell the property for the maximum price and in the shortest possible timeframe.
The client was advised to retain the architectural features but to introduce elements of living required in the 21st century. One of the challenges in older properties is insufficient bathrooms for the needs of the modern family.
Lesley Ann's solution was to create an ensuite bathroom that could be accessed from the master bedroom via a secret door, but also from the main landing should the need arise.
Mr H sold the house within a few days of placing it on the market for a sum far in excess of the money spent on the refurbishment. Lesley Ann is now working on his new home.
"Lesley Ann had been recommended to me but, just to be sure, I interviewed some other interior design consultants for comparison. Lesley Ann stood out from the others because she listened carefully to the brief. The designs in her portfolio were sensitive and understated. I have subsequently employed her on three other projects including my office.
"Through Lesley Ann's expertise and good taste we have been able to create environments that are easy, elegant and good value for money. Each time a project is finished, it spontaneously elicits admiring comments."
